Tuesday; August 26th - Monday; September 1st - Great Allentown Fair 2008 - Volunteers are still needed for some shifts at the Lehigh County Republican Booth. Call Kim at 610-435-3322 to find out what’s available and sign up.
Wednesday; August 27th, 2008 - A 20/20 volunteer party at the McCain/Dent Victory 2008 Headquarters. If 20 volunteers make 20 calls each to help Charlie Dent and John McCain the evening will be a great success! Stop by between 5:30-8:00pm. Pizza, soda and desert will be served at 7:00pm. Wednesday, August 27th, 2008 - Please join Chairman Platt as he welcomes Attorney General Tom Corbett to the Great Allentown Fair 2:00PM until 3:30PM. General Corbett will visit the Lehigh County Republican Committee’s campaign booth at the Fair and continue with a walk around the Fairgrounds greeting your friends, family and colleagues.
Thursday; August 28th, 2008 - Gas Blitz and voter registration with the Young Republicans. We’ve got the “Drill Here, Drill Now,” signs made, all we need are the people. We’d like to hit 4 stations during the Thursday evening rush as folks fill up for the Labor Day weekend. If you’re available some time between 4:30 and 6PM on Thursday for a fun 90 minutes of collecting votes and registering new Republican, email coordinator@lehighvalleymcain.com or Dottie at ivydot1@verizon.net.
Thursday; August 28th, 2008 - Summer in the City features the Lehigh Valley’s best musicians in a variety of musical genres. From Jazz to Folk and Classical to Celtic, you will be entertained every Thursday during lunch, from 11:45am-1:15pm, at the PPL Plaza. Come early and grab a seat or bring a lawn chair.
Wednesday; September 3rd, 2008 - Lehigh Valley Clubman’s Association is holding their Annual candidate’s Night at the Alliance Fire Company located at 717 Washington Avenue in Northampton. There will be plenty of parking in the rear of the building with entrance to the club on the side of the building. Each of the candidates will be allowed a 5 minute speaking time. There will also be time allotted for questions and answers. Items of interest will PLCB laws, PA Liquor Control Enforcement, PA Gaming, small games of chance, and support for the use of video poker. Thursday; September 4th, 2008 - Save the Date! Lehigh County Republican Committee and Lehigh Valley McCain Convention Party at the Barrister’s Club - 1140 West Walnut St; Allentown - 7PM. Saturday; October 4th, 2008 - 32nd Old Allentown Preservation Association Annual House Tour - 10 am to 4 pm This walking tour features the interiors and gardens of historic homes built in the mid-eighteen hundreds, while the Olde House Fair features vendors specializing in historic restoration, as well as, various artists. Other highlights include animal rescue groups, classic cars, shuttle service, and food vendors. TICKET INFORMATION - Discounted Advance tickets are $15 and will be available at several locations. Tickets will be available the first week of September. A final list of ticket locations will be on the web site late August. Call the office any time to reserve your advance tickets at 610-740-9919. Tickets purchased the day of the tour at the OAPA office will be $20.
