Statement of Purpose:

The Lehigh County Republican Committee’s main purpose is two-fold: to help elect qualified Republican candidates to all levels of federal, state and local office who support the long established principles of the Republican party, and to articulate these principles to the general public.  What binds us together as Republicans are core values and a philosophy of beliefs about our government and society.

These beliefs are Republican principles:

• That a government is limited to operate within its constitutional authority.
• That government must be limited, defined as limited in scope, authority and expense.
• That the traditional family unit and the sanctity of life are the building blocks of our nation.
• That religious freedom is a pillar of American society and we respect the rights of all citizens to practice their faith without prejudice, with tolerance to worship freely and without shame.
• That our security is of major importance so that we may live in peace, liberty and without fear.
• That it is the duty of all levels of government to protect citizens from foreign and domestic harm by enforcing all existing laws, and by taking a proactive approach to homeland security.
• That our children and communities grow in creative strength through a quality education grounded in essential academic skills.
• That our elected public servants should be supported, but also held accountable to defend these principles during public policy decisions; such decisions shall be considered during the committee’s endorsement process.
